Method
- Heat oil in saucepan over medium heat.
- Saute onion and garlic until soft and translucent, 5 minutes or so.
- Add flour, nutritional yeast and liquid aminos and stir until mixed. This will become a smooth paste.
- Whisk in the vegetable broth gradually.
- Add sage, salt and pepper
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer.
- Stir continuously for about 10 minutes or until thickened.
Notes
This is a fairly thick gravy. Modify by adding more broth.
I really love this gravy. From what I remember, over 30 years ago, it tastes very similar to turkey gravy that is served over your mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving.
