My husband Dave, the cookie monster, loves raw cookie dough but we all know that eating dough that contains raw egg is a big risk for the belly. So, for his birthday this year, Chloe and I decided to make him some cookie dough that was perfectly Ok to eat raw. All the yummy sans the risk! It turned out great.
I adore cooking with my sweet daughter, Chloe. We have a lot of fun. We’ve been cooking together since she was “knee high to a grasshopper” when I would plop her on the counter so she could “help me” make french bread! Now that she is an adult, she is actually an excellent cook and quite helpful instead of being another thing to juggle while trying to cook!
Edible Cookie Dough
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted buttter
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar light or dark
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk I use almond milk
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- lots of other fun candy to roll the dough in see pictures
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F
- spread flour on to baking sheet and bake at 350 for 12 minutes
- partially melt the butter in the microwave
- combine the butter and sugar and mix until combined
- add salt, vanilla and milk. Mix well.
- add in the flour mixture until just combined
- stir in chocolate chips. I like to leave the chips out of some of the dough and add other candies instead.
- Chop up other fun things to try in or on your dough balls like: nuts, reeses, oreo cookies, nutter butter cookies,
- Roll the dough into bite sized balls and coat with candy/nuts/crunchies of your choice
Notes
Try these but don’t get mad at me when you end up eating the entire tray of these magical balls.

Oh thank you, Akmar! Maybe someday I will vlog too!
Yes, it is tricky as a momma to not be bossy in the kitchen! We always think we know best! But now, Chloe is teaching me a thing or two! We can all learn from each other.
Lots of love, Akamr! xoxo Jill

They look yum, will give them a go even though cookie dough isn’t really a kiwi thing. I will broaden my palette and force my kids to too, hehe.

I love it, Vanessa! Give this crazy American tradition a try. It really is kind of odd to eat raw cookie dough but so many people love it!
How is your blog going? I’ve been terrible. I’m getting back to the computer now but I haven’t found any time this summer…I miss it!
